Held annually at Washington’s University Club, the Alumni & Friends Reception is an opportunity for former CN student journalists to reunite with their counterparts working in a variety of fields, from journalism and politics to business and law. It is also a chance for the CN to recognize its current class of interns and fellows.

In June 2008, Fred Barnes and Mort Kondracke, fresh off of their nightly appearance on Fox’s Special Report w/Brit Hume, each offered remarks. As hosts of CN year-long fellows, both Barnes and Kondracke praised the Network for cultivating a new generation of journalists.
